What game modes are available?

At launch players will be able to chose from Quickplay, Pick-Up Game, Backyard Bash, Wiggle Ball, Backyard Derby, Tee-Ball, League Play, and Tutorial

How does the power-up system work?

Pitching power-ups are earned through strikeouts. Batting power-ups are earned through bases earned as a batter. As an example for bases earned, a single is 1, a double is 2, etc, and when you have earned 10 bases, a power-up is rewarded to the player.

How many innings is a standard game?

The number of innings for a game is configurable in the Game Set-Up menu. You can choose to play a game lasting 1, 3, 6, or 9 innings.

Can I customize rules (mercy rule, inning count, DH)?

In the Game Setup menu for local/private matches, you can customize Ball Type, Difficulty, Errors, Number of Innings, Home Field, Swing Spot, Birthday Boost, and Hot/Cold Days

How do custom rules like Birthday Boost and Hot/Cold Days work?

The characters receive a boost in all of their attributes during their birthday and depending on certain factors, players may experience Hot & Cold Days that will give boosts or debuffs, respectively.

Will there be replays and highlights?

The game does not feature replays or highlight systems.

How do I unlock new characters?

There are a number of in-game characters that can be unlocked with achievements and exploring various game modes. Give it a try!

Are all of the original Backyard Kids available from the start?

Yes, the roster of original Backyard Kids are unlocked by default

Which former pros are in the game?

The following Backyard legends are confirmed unlockables in the base game: Mark McGwire, Sammy Sosa, Chipper Jones, Jason Giambi, Jeff Bagwell, Vlad Guerrero and Kenny Lofton

What stadiums are in the game?

Steele Stadium, Parks Dept Fields No. 2, Big City Stadium, Super Colossal Dome, Sandy Flats, Cement Gardens, Tin Can Alley, Dirt Yards, Eckman Acres, and Playground Commons

Is there a night mode for all stadiums?

Yes, Night Mode is available for all stadiums!

Is there a season or tournament mode?

Yes, League Play includes a 14-match regular season leading into post-season tournaments, including the All-City Playoffs, Super Entire National Tournament (S.E.N.T.) and the Ultra Grand Championship of the Universe (U.G.C.O.T.U.)
